Description

You are buying an early slender slip cap Conklin Crescent filler. It is a model #2. As far as I know this is the second smallest Crescent Filler offered by Conklin There are no cracks, breaks or any serious distractions.
The imprints are excellent with the cap having an imprint showing an 1899 patent date and the barrel having a 1901. The crescent is white metal and not imprinted (pre 1908). There is a lot of plate loss to the crescent. The lock ring is low profile which also pre dates the pen before 1908.
The black color has faded about 25% and the color is uneven throughout. This might be improved with some “special sauce” available at some pen shows that darkens vulcanite.
The nib is a rigid Fine Conklin Toledo R. The pen is about 5 1/4” long when closed. It is quite slender with the barrel measuring just
about
3/8” wide.
I have placed a new sac in the pen but it has not been “road tested” and may need further tweaking by you or your pen repair professional.
No box or papers included.
When you buy anything from NYC Pens you will receive the exact item pictured (unless otherwise stated) and satisfaction is guaranteed.
