Description
Antique Italian 925 Sterling Silver Cobalt Blue Blown Glass Horse Drawn Carriage in virtually perfect condition. LOWEST PRICE ON THE MARKET This miniature was hand blown and crafted in Italy, and marked 925 to ensure the silver is sterling. Many people think it is Disneys Cinderella horse drawn carriage that takes her off to the ball, but it is not Disney, it is just that there is no one who knows Cinderella and looks at this beautiful piece thinking the artist didn’t specifically have Cinderella in mind. But I don’t think he did and that is what I love about this piece so much and what makes it so special is that it is ambiguous and yet so specific. I love this piece not because of it reminds of Cinderella but because it can be just a horse drawn carriage, which on their own and the age before cars where this was the main means of transportation is so fascinating, and the idea of it all Is so romantic. It’s a rare item and highly priced, as I have only seen 4 ever available for purchase in my years of searching. My mother loved collecting little figurines for me when I was young, not for playing just for looking. I now have all the Disney porcelain statues, so many Swarovski’s crystal litrle figurine animals and anything she could find that had something special about it, and if it was Italian made, forget it, she was hooked because she has always dreamt of going to one place, Italy, and still has not had the chance. I am actually happy to give this to someone who will love it just as much as my mother and I do, for any reason at all, because they love Cinderella and it reminds them of her horse drawn carriage to the ball, or for the fact that they love anything to do with horses, or love the idea of or hold dear a memory of a romantic or joyous ride in Central Park horse drawn carriage, or because they love sterling silver, or collect blown glass, or always dreamt of holding the reigns and steering a horse drawn carriage, or fantasize about the era when we had no cars… the thing is any of those and all of those are in this unique piece. It is not Disney, it is not memorabilia, it is not from a specific collection, or meant to represent an era or age of horse power, it is in all its glory simply what it is… a beautiful stifling silver Italian made antique with a beautiful blue blown glass stifling silver horse drawn carriage and such delicate intricate specific design choices, aesthetics and detail. It’s special, it’s unique, it’s timeless, and appeals to all ages. But I actually want someone to be able to enjoy it and it’s being priced too high so here goes, I still have two babies to feed but I’m not greedy. Hope someone who has coveted this item but unable to afford the high listings can finally buy it and enjoy this very humble and beautiful hand crafted piece of Italian art. It is 7 inches long and 5 inches tall from wheels to top of carriage adornment.
